Dear Families,
This afternoon we received notification from DOSCEL regarding the appointment of the new principal for Lumen Christi. Please find attached a letter that has been provided to share with our community that announces that Mrs.Sally Darby will join Lumen Christi as principal in 2022.
Can I extend my personal congratulations to Sally on her appointment. I have known Sally through her role at St.Gabriel's and I look forward to engaging with her to ensure a strong transition before she starts in 2022.
Due to the nature of the lock-down you may have not noticed my absence these past few weeks as I am currently on long service leave, although my family travel plans have been severely impacted by the lock-down. Like you I am working hard as a remote learning parent, which I'm finding is a mixed role of half-motivator and half-caterer. During my absence the leadership team and staff have taken on greater responsibilities and I would like to thank Mr.Redi in particular for the many extra hours he has had to contribute.
As we come to the end of a difficult term can I reach out and acknowledge the outstanding work of the staff who have juggled the pressures of maintaining learning (both on and offsite) as well as dealing with the changed circumstances in their own personal routines. I would also like to acknowledge the efforts of our students who have continued to deal with the joys and challenges of remote learning, while also praising everyone at home working hard to support our students. Parents and carers have just been amazing in the way they have rolled up their sleeves to adapt to remote learning.
Finally can I wish everyone a great school holiday break. Please take time to have a rest and get out and soak in some fresh air. We look forward to having everyone back on deck next term so we can take full advantage of the last term.
Wishing all the Demons and Bulldogs fans an exciting experience over the next few weeks.
Regards, Dave
