Dear Families and Students,
I hope everyone is keeping safe .... and dry! The wet conditions have started to impact roads so I ask everyone to be safe as you are driving.
Last year I shared a beautiful prayer with some accompanying iconography. I've included it again today as we pray for those impacted by this crisis. Can I also offer our prayers and best wishes to those individuals in our school community who through their occupation as nurses or other health staff etc are contributing so selflessly to our local community.
Due to the lock-down status of the Latrobe City LGA the school is directed to switch back to remote learning for all year levels until at least next Tuesday. Please be very aware that the specific circumstances for Latrobe Valley schools will differ to other Regional schools until our lock-down ends. We anticipate that our return to school structure will likely follow a staggered return plan like that for Metro & Regional schools but until advised we will just have to patient.
At the moment we are planning on using Monday morning as a time for families to collect devices and then complete independent online work until students join their teacher and classmates for a Google Meet at 2pm. Tuesday will follow our regular Remote Learning daily timetable with classes connecting for GMeets at 9am.
Schools have been advised to offer onsite supervision for students who fit the eligibility criteria and we ask parents to complete the regular eForm attached to this newsletter. It is critically important in light of the current health scenario in the Latrobe Valley that all COVID safe practices are followed on the school site which include students not attending if they show any symptoms etc, have been in contact with anyone from exposure sites, are awaiting test results and that they only attend onsite supervision if absolutely necessary.
If you need to collect a school device please complete the eForm so we can prepare devices for collection on Monday morning.
I thank you for your continued support as we navigate another period of uncertainty.
Take care,
Dave
We offer of prayers for those who have died, their families and the sick. We also give thanks for the skills and knowledge of those leaders and scientists who guide us in this time, especially those leading the medical research to deal with this crisis. We pray for those who offer care and comfort to others.
