Dear Families,
We had a wonderful morning celebrating First Eucharist at Lumen Christi on Sunday. Congratulations to all of our children who celebrated this next important step in their faith journey. Thank you to all of the parents, families and friends who came along on the day.
God, the Father of love and source of life,
You are always present to us just as we are.
We pray for the students who made their Sacrament of Eucharist this week.
We pray that you strengthen their faith and help them to grow in hope and love.
Amen.
This week in the library we have the book fair here at school. Please come along before or after school to look at the books. EFTPOS is available as a payment method.
The Parents and Friends have also organised a Halloween Disco to be held here at the school on Friday 28th October. It would be wonderful to see children dressed up and attending this fun event at the school. Thank you to the P&F for organising this.
Some information regarding students’ last day of school this term. Recently, teachers voted on a new Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) which changes the conditions under which staff in schools work under. Part of this agreement is a Time in Lieu policy and teachers are now entitled to take Time in Lieu for out of hours activities such as school camps. DOSCEL have made arrangements for this to happen through a school closure day. In order to least affect families, this will be Monday 19th December. Therefore, students’ last day for 2022 will be Friday 16th December at 3pm. Many thanks for your understanding.
Have a wonderful week ahead,
Sally

Pope John XXIII was an example of the character trait, serenity. He was someone who never worried too much and lived life with a sense of humour.
When displaying a sense of serenity, you are giving yourself a sense of calmness in both body and mind. This relates to what Jesus said:
“Peace I leave with I give to you…. do not let your hearts be troubled…”
Crazy Sock Day:
Next Friday, 28th October we are asking that students wear their crazy socks and bring along a gold coin donation to raise money for Catholic Mission Month. This year's focus is on the country, Ethiopia.
