Dear Families,
We had a great week last week with the Life Ed van here. The children all participated really well and Jan from Life Ed was so impressed with the behaviour of our children. We are working hard on communicating and demonstrating our school wide expectations: Respectful, Responsible and Resilient – so it’s great to see this in action, especially when we have visitors to our school.
This week is another busy week here at school. We are gearing up for Mother’s Day. A HUGE thank you to the P&F for their work organising the Mother’s Day stall. Payment is preferably through CDF pay please. As always, Janelle in our office is happy to support families in setting this up if it’s not up and running in your household already.
We have Mother’s Day breakfast before school at 8:10am and Mother’s Day mass has been prepared by our Grade Prep/1s, Miss Smith and Mrs Heather which is at 9:30am in the church. All welcome. We want to celebrate all of our mums and special people in our lives.
On Wednesday, our school soccer players are off to Morwell to take part in the Yinnar and District School Soccer competition. We thank Stephen Breheny for going along to coach our boys and Shane Wilson for coaching the girls. We wish all of our kids the best of luck and we know they will represent our school well (and hopefully beat Mr Cooper’s school, St Vincent’s).
Exciting news is that we have Lunch Orders starting at Lumen Christi starting tomorrow. There is instructions on how to order in the newsletter. Orders can be taken up to 7:30pm the night before. The great news is that it can be ALL the food your child needs for the day, so both snack and lunch can be provided on the day. Look through the options and choose what your child would like to eat. Lunches will be provided by a Morwell based business called “Lunch Run”. The options do not include hot foods like sausage rolls, hot dogs etc.. – it is more a healthy food option service (sandwiches, grazing boxes) but there are some treats available in the options too.
A Mother’s Day Prayer
I said a Mother's Day prayer for you
to thank the Lord above
for blessing me with a lifetime
of your tender-hearted love.
I thanked God for the caring
you've shown me through the years,
for the closeness we've enjoyed
in time of laughter and of tears.
And so, I thank you from the heart
for all you've done for me
and I bless the Lord for giving me
the best mother there could be!
Have a wonderful week ahead,
Sally
