Dear Families,
This will be our final newsletter for 2024 and I’d like to take the time to thank all of our families for their ongoing support this year. I’d also like to thank our amazing teachers and dedicated staff for all of their hard work with our children this year. The end of the year always creates the space to sit back and reflect on just how far we’ve come as a school and I can, hand on heart say, that we’ve spent our time well, we’ve focused on the right things that have an impact on learning and our children have benefitted from the work that we’ve put in. I hope that, in the majority of cases, this is reflected in student reports that were released online last Friday.
We farewelled our Year 6 students and celebrated with them and their families for their graduation on Tuesday evening. It was a lovely celebration and I know that all of the staff and families felt extremely proud of the lovely young people they are. Good luck to all of them as they move on to secondary school.
Over the past week or so, I have seen children come into school with Christmas Cards and gifts for their teachers and our staff. Thank you so much everyone for your generosity and kindness. We love what we do and we love working with your children. Gifts are not necessary; however, it is a lovely gesture to acknowledge that what we do is appreciated by our families.
I’d like to take this opportunity to wish all of our families a wonderful Christmas and hope that families will have the opportunity to spend some time together with friends and loved ones over the summer break.
Please take care if you are setting off on the roads or to the beaches this summer. We want all of our children and their families to stay safe.
Christmas is a magical time for children and a very important time for us as a Catholic community. Amidst presents, naughty little elves that cause trouble around your houses each day and all the celebrations, let us remember that as a Catholic community we are waiting and preparing for Jesus to come and be with us.
A reminder that school finishes this Wednesday 18 th December at 3pm.
School returns for ALL students on Thursday 30 th January 2025.
A very happy and holy Christmas to everyone.
On behalf of all of the staff at Lumen Christi, I thank you all again for being such a great community and look forward to seeing our families back and well rested in 2025.
Enjoy the break,
Sally
