Dear Families,
Here we are at the end of another busy term. Student Reports will be coming out this
week and a message will go out to families via schoolzine to let everyone know
when they can be accessed. I know I mentioned this a few weeks ago, but teachers
have worked hard on these to ensure that they are accurate and that comments
reflect your child’s individual strengths and personality. Please take the time to
access them on PAM and read them.
Last week, a group of children participated in The Big Sing at GPAC in Traralgon. I
was lucky enough to attend the rehearsal day and it was such a lovely day listening
to our children sing alongside a number of other schools in our area. Mrs Szkwarek
was there in the evening for the actual performance and said that it was wonderful.
Well done to everyone who took part and represented our school so well.
A reminder that our last day is Thursday this week, finishing at normal time. We
return to school on Monday 21 st July for Term 3.
Thank you everyone for a wonderful Term 2. This officially marks the half way mark
as we move into the second semester of 2025. Term 3 is a very short term, only nine
weeks. We have had a lot of illness in the school over the past few weeks, please be
mindful of staying home to stop the spread of infection and returning to school when
symptoms have resolved. Also, because children tend to get sick at this time of year,
please also be mindful of attendance and making sure that days off school are for
illness only (or other unavoidable circumstances). It’s important to make every day at school count.
I hope everyone has a good break, that the children wrap up warm and enjoy a rest.
I know our staff are certainly looking forward to the break.
We will see everyone in Term 3.
Have a wonderful week ahead,
Sally

BIG SING 2025
The Gippsland Children’s Choir held its annual Big Sing at the Gippsland Performing Arts Centre on Thursday, showcasing a vibrant celebration of music in schools. Lumen Christi had 26 students take part this year and they should be so proud of their efforts, they practised and performed so well and it certainly will be something they will remember fondly for a long time to come. The Big Sing this year featured 240 school children coming together to form a massed choir at GPAC, delivering an impressive and unified performance. Accompanied by a live band, the choir captivated the audience with dynamic renditions of popular songs
including Stand By Me, Better When I’m Dancing, and the iconic Australian anthem You’re
the Voice.
The evening was a resounding success, with the performers singing to a full house of over 630 attendees. Congratulations to all the young singers for their outstanding contribution to a truly memorable night. Special mention to Layla and Anouk who sung a solo on the night and did such a fantastic job in front of a huge crowd – Wow! Thankyou also to the Lumen Christi parents for their help and support to get their children ready and prepared for the night.
All new Foundation students and families are welcome at Lumen Christi. Enrolment packs are available at the school office. Phone 5122 2231 to book a school tour with our Principal.
