Events for Week 3 & 4
Our Enrichment Program offers students a diversity of experiences beyond the core academic program expected of schools. Next week looks particularly busy and we ask parents to take note of the activities, and we extend an invitation for families to participate as directed. Please see your classroom teachers for further information.
Tuesday 11th Feb: ANDREW CHINN VISIT. Andrew is possibly the most recognisable performing artist in Catholic schools across the country, with his music probably used at each of our masses. He has collaborated with Jane Mitchell who was the person tasked with creating our school song 'We Shine', and we hope he has a copy of the chords to share the song with us. Andrew will conduct workshops with each of our classes then as a school community we will come together for a Concert in the afternoon. We invite families and friends to come along at 2pm to see our students (and Andrew!) perform.
Wednesday 12th Feb: DISTRICT SWIMMING. A squad of senior students has been selected to represent the school at the District Carnival to be held at the Churchill Leisure Centre. The squad will be coached by Mrs.Alesi, who apart from looking after our school finances also is a qualified swim coach and in her heyday was a highly successful local swimmer. If your child is participating can you please return the permission notice ASAP. It is likely we will require some parent helpers - please let Mr.Mahoney know if you can assist.
Thursday 13th Feb: OPENING MASS. We extend a very warm invite again to family and friends to attend our opening mass at 9am, especially our new families and the families of our student leaders. At Mass our Student Leaders will receive their badges, and afterwards they will host a morning tea for those families after the mass.
Friday 21st Feb: HOCKEY CLINICS. All classes will participate in a Hockey Clinic hosted by external coaches. We advise all students to wear their PE uniform on this day.
