Dear Families and Friends,
Welcome back to Term 2, I hope everyone had a terrific Easter and break from the routine of school. During my long service leave and the school holidays I certainly felt like I had the chance to recharge and had the opportunity for some quality re-creation time.
The Easter season gives us the spiritual reminder to be re-born, a chance to be renewed, to take advantage of opportunities to improve our lives as well as have a positive impact on those around us. Regardless of your faith stance and your personal beliefs, there can be no denying that something extra-ordinary happened in Jerusalem over 2000 years to those people who were followers of Jesus, as well as those that impacted so much they too became Christians. Since then millions have continued to spread the message of Jesus around the globe, while here in Churchill we strive to be the 'Light of Christ' to each other. This message is a combination of being both simple while also challenging. My prayer is that us as adults model this beautiful message to our children.
This term our Sacrament Program picks up the post-Easter events that lead to Pentecost Sunday. Our Year 6's begin preparation for Confirmation next week and we ask those families to take note of the dates and events coming up across the next few weeks.
This weekend as a nation we commemorate ANZAC Day. Our thoughts turn to the sacrifices made by those individuals impacted by conflicts over the years, while also having an awareness of the ongoing trauma associated with military service. As a country we take the opportunity to pray and inspire to live in communities that promote peace and forgiveness. I encourage all families to attend the local Churchill ANZAC event which will be held at 9am on Sunday morning.
Finally a reminder of the Student-free day that was advertised last term via the newsletter. Next THURSDAY 29th APRIL is a teacher professional development day and therefore the school will be closed to students.
Kind regards, Dave
Sadly we will be saying farewell to Mrs.Rebekah Alesi in a few weeks. Bek is leaving to take up an exciting opportunity in her previous accounting career. We thank Bek for her assistance across so many areas, including many things we probably didn't even know she did! We have been blessed to not only have such a capable person in the finance role, but also someone who embraced the dynamic and exciting environment of working front-of-house in a primary school. She will be really missed by us all.
In the next few weeks the Finance Admin position will be advertised and we encourage all interested people to contact us to find out more about the position.
Each year we take advantage of the opportunity to be involved in a school wide survey that can contribute to our School Improvement Strategies. In Term 2 of each year, staff, senior students and a selection of families are offered the opportunity to contribute their thoughts and opinions to the process. The survey tool is anonymous and can be completed either in paper form or online.
The survey period for 2021 opens on Monday 26th April and concludes on Friday 7th May. If your family receives one of the packages next week we would really appreciate your support in completing the survey.
Please take note of these dates for your family calendar

This term we open our enrolments for 2022. We have previously advertised a new initiative we would like to trial which is a set Open Afternoon. We have always had the belief that Every day is Open day, but thought by offering this some new families might feel more comfortable instead of having a private tour. We continue to welcome interested families to contact us for a visit anytime.
For existing families, or families who would like to join us, our enrolment form can be located on the school website. This form can be completed electronically in PDF or alternatively families can call by for a paper hard-copy.
Our regular pre-COVID Transition Program will recommence which includes sessions during Terms 3 and 4, moving towards the Statewide Transition Day on the second Tuesday in December.
Please contact the office if you would like to discuss transition or enrolment.
